Terms of Service

Arcane Atlas is used by Game Masters ("GMs") who create accounts to manage tabletop campaigns, and by players, who do not create Arcane Atlas accounts. Players interact with a campaign through a share link, a join code, or through Discord using their Discord identity. Where these Terms say "you," they mean whoever is using the Service in whatever capacity — GM or player — and provisions specific to one role are marked as such.

GMs must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for activity on their account, including activity by co-GMs and contributors they invite into a campaign. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a GM account and hold a paid subscription. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Arcane Atlas offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers, billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Plan changes take effect through Stripe's proration: a change to a higher or lower tier credits unused time on your prior plan against your next invoice.

You may cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access to your paid plan's features until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.

We do not store your card number — Stripe processes and stores payment details directly. See Privacy Policy for how billing data is handled.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, or the rights of any third party;
• Upload or generate content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes another party's intellectual property rights;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's campaign, account, or data, including through another player's share link or join code;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through excessive automated requests; or
• Use the Service to build a competing product by means of automated scraping or reverse engineering.

You retain ownership of the campaign content you create — NPCs, locations, session notes, uploaded documents, and everything else you or your table puts into a campaign ("Your Content"). You grant Arcane Atlas a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service, including sending it to the third-party AI and transcription providers described in Section 7. That license ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, subject to the retention described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload, including session audio recordings — make sure everyone at your table consents to being recorded and transcribed before you use that feature.

Arcane Atlas uses AI models to draft session recaps, suggested entity updates, and other content from your campaign data. AI output is a draft, not canon: nothing an AI model produces is written into your campaign's canonical record automatically. It is queued for your review and only takes effect once you approve it. AI output can be inaccurate or inconsistent with your campaign — review it before relying on it, the same way you would review any draft written by a person you delegated the task to.

Arcane Atlas is built on top of, and shares data with, the following third-party services as needed to provide the Service: Supabase (accounts, data storage), Stripe (billing), Discord (bot integration, if you enable it), Anthropic (AI processing), Deepgram and Groq (audio transcription), and Voyage AI (semantic search embeddings). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where you interact with them directly, such as Discord's Terms of Service when you use the Discord bot.

Arcane Atlas uses Open Game Content and System Reference Document material under their respective open licenses for server-side AI context. Arcane Atlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast. See Credits & Attribution for the specific licenses and sources in use.

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any account that violates these Terms, including the acceptable-use provisions in Section 4, or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to the Service or other users. Where practical, we will give notice before termination.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service, including AI-generated output, will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arcane Atlas will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where practical, notify account holders. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
